OF WORK AND MODERN TENDENCIES

IN MANAGEMENT

Koszecin, 17 – 18 June 2010

THE AIM OF THE CONFERENCE

Contemporary changes in modern organizations, including growing importance of qualifications in management, high professionalization of work and consequently the development of knowledge and technology, bring on transformations of roles and organizational relations. The fast pace of these changes may cause adaptation problems. Similarly new tendencies in management not always act in accordance with abilities and needs of employees. On the one hand knowledge-based economy requires more and more educated employees, offers them opportunity to develop and fulfillment and a work in autonomous conditions, from the other hand contemporary technologies, especially IT, cause more and more weak human contacts and ties. Moreover, the tendencies on labor market show disappearance of long-term employment which doesn’t allow to fulfill the need of security.

For that reason humanization of human management processes is of significant importance. The claim that a human being is the most important resource in the organization shouldn’t be only a catchphrase but should convey authentic meaning based on scientific reflection applicable to specific organizations and situations.
